Forest City Athletic Complex

The Forest City school district and Waldorf College collaborated to convert the existing natural grass football field at the Forest City High School to a synthetic turf field. One unique aspect of this project was that during the removals process, a curb was found buried beneath the asphalt. Rather than remove more asphalt or curb which would have been costly to the owner, the nailer board for the synthetic turf was moved to the top of this curb which provided a very clean transition from track to turf. Baseball and softball fields were also renovated from natural grass to synthetic turf.

Work completed included:

  • Excavation and export of native soils for proposed section
  • Import and placement of 3' of sand soil correction over the entire field
  • Installation of all under drainage for synthetic turf field
  • Import and placement of all synthetic turf base material toleranced via laser guided machine control equipment
  • Field Turf synthetic turf installed
  • Resilient surfacing installed by Fisher Tracks
