A small city lot in St. Paul needed a landscape facelift that would maximize its square footage and privacy. This is where our design team stepped in. Two sets of steps were installed: one from the back alley and the other to the side of the house. A Chilton wall stone was stacked to create a retaining wall bordering a flat and usable space where sod was laid. The site originally included an existing, brick paver walkway; the owner hoped to salvage it. Our crews pulled up the pavers, installed a new base and re-set the salvaged pavers creating a walkway along the side of the house. The end result made for a small but intimate space that feels timeless in the neighborhood.
