CHS Field

It was an exciting challenge to be awarded the work scope to construct the entire playing surface within the new CHS Ball Park, as well as the contract for exterior landscaping. As the design build contractor of record for the entire playing field, we designed the field in-house using AutoCad software. We were given the field at a rough subgrade elevation and then completed the following items 100% in house with our own workforce:

• -6”-24” Aggregate drainage layer with all associate drain piping to efficiently drain the field
• 12” of sand peat growing medium specialty soil,
• Infield aggregate materials trucked in from Georgia
• Warning track materials trucked in from Milwaukee, WI
• Mound Clay imported from Arizona
• Installation of athletic sod imported from Coloma, WI
• Installation of suspended safety netting, padding and associated athletic equipment
• Design and installation of irrigation system to water all turf and landscaped areas
• Installation of GravelPave 2 Vactor Truck path, meeting ADA requirements
• RTF Sod imported from Alburnett, IA
• Installation of StaLok Stabilized Granite path, meeting ADA requirements
• Installation of Escofet tree rings imported from Spain
