Minnesota Autism Center

Peterson Companies was hand selected by the general contractor to facilitate the design and complete the construction of the athletic fields for The Minnesota Autism Center. This project was unique due to the track and fields being built at 1/3 of the size of standard athletic fields and events. Despite the size difference, the same high-end products and services were used similar to any other major athletic complex. One of the Center's highest priorities for this site was for us to ensure the facilities would remain clean and safe for the students using it. With safety and cleanliness in mind, we chose to construct a sand-based field using specialty sand-based athletic sod imported from Coloma, WI. Also, we installed draintile sub-drainage throughout the field subgrade to keep the fields dry and mud free regardless how much rain the site receives.

• Subgrade verification and laser grading
• Sand soil correction for running track

• Import and installation of sand peat for baseball and soccer fields
• Installation of five-lane undersized track with resilient surface and special track markings
• Installation of irrigation system for fields
